A PADI Junior Advanced Open Water participant must be at
least 12 years of age and upon completion of the programme
may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent
or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 21 metres.
Similarly, the PADI Junior Rescue Diver programme is conducted as the PADI Rescue Diver programme for adults but with special limitations for the younger participants.
Accommodations made for these young participants is such as programme duration, equipment handling, safety measurements and diving depths,
The PADI Junior Open Water Diver programme can later be upgraded to the PADI Open Water Diver certification when the diver reaches certification age and gained experience from diving.
This also applies for the PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Junior Rescue Diver programmes which can be upgraded to the PAD1 Advance Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver certification.
